Our Work
WORK IN UKRAINE
Project Kesher Ukraine (PKU) and the Women’s Opportunity Fund of Ukraine provide essential gender-responsive care. Their impact is profound, from distributing 250 e-bicycles to women healthcare workers, equipping maternity wards with lifesaving resources, and awarding $312,000 in grants to 150 women-owned businesses. PKU continues to sustain Jewish life amidst the devastation, distributing a print edition of its Ukrainian-language Haggadah, delivering a Torah to Kyiv, hosting Jewish intergenerational retreats for mother-daughter pairs, and rebuilding Ukraine’s pipeline of Jewish women leaders.
WORK IN ISRAEL
In Israel, the October 7th attacks and ongoing war have left thousands of Russian and Ukrainian-speaking women in dire need. Project Kesher Israel (PKI) has expanded its initiatives, offering emotional support in Russian, Hebrew language classes, financial literacy training, and food assistance. PKI continues to host Jewish holiday celebrations with over 200 participants at each event, Jewish educational programming, Bat Mitzvah training, and nationwide tours that immerse immigrants in Jewish art, literature, and history, fostering a deeper connection to Jewish culture. Support for the LGBTQ+ community has also grown, serving over 1,250 members with mental health services and legal advocacy.
