Computer Literacy for Children

In the month of May, Project Kesher Belarus activists were able to start bringing PK women back together safely in person for computer literacy training at the Mara Schwartz ORT-KesherNet Computer Center in Gomel. While 32 participants were trained via Skype, 18 participants came together for connection, learning, and personal growth amidst political unrest and the pandemic. In addition to their standard classes for adults, which focus on everything from resume writing to graphic and web design to Excel, this month they also held classes for children. With the severe economic downturn in the entire region, these centers have become ever more vital by providing basic and advanced computer skills, economic and legal literacy training, and a home for PK women’s groups, social activism training and activities, and for the Jewish community as a whole.
