Helping Ukrainian Businesses Maintain Operations Amidst Unstable Energy Supplies
In response to wartime challenges affecting Ukrainians’ access to electricity, PKU’s Women’s Opportunity Fund (WOF-UA) is helping women-led enterprises achieve energy independence as a means of maintaining their operations during ongoing blackouts. Through its Recharge Business program, the organization is empowering small businesses across Ukraine with vital equipment, including generators (up to 10 kW) and portable charging stations.
Eligible businesses must be led by women, operate in government-controlled territories and meet specific criteria, including at least one year of operation, a minimum of two employees and an annual income of UAH 700,000 (approximately $16,622 USD).
By equipping women entrepreneurs with the tools to navigate energy instability, the WOF-UA is fostering resilience and growth, helping ensure that these businesses continue supporting individual livelihoods and contribute to the nation’s economy.
