Helping Those Weary of War Find Strength in Togetherness

Even amidst today’s ongoing conflict, the women of Odesa continue to find solace and resilience in one another. Just one day after a missile strike devastated the city’s historic center, PKU organized a ‘Mom’s Gathering’—a comforting and restorative space for women and their children to step away from the trauma of war.

By candlelight, the gathering offered moments of peace and reflection, helping participants release stress and rediscover calm. The event, supported by Beit Grand, the Jewish Cultural Center, served as a powerful reminder of the strength found in community and connection.

The missile attack on January 31 severely damaged 15 cultural landmarks in Odesa, including the Literary Museum, the History and Local Lore Museum, and the Philharmonic. Despite the devastation, PKU remains undeterred, continuing to provide opportunities for emotional healing as well as economic empowerment.
