Further Supporting Immigrant Israelis in the Aftermath of Iranian Attacks
Project Kesher Israel (PKI) continues to provide critical support to Russian-speaking immigrants who remain acutely affected by the Iranian attacks, even amidst the ceasefire. Enduring missile strikes without safe rooms or shelters has left many with signs of post-traumatic stress. Others have had their homes severely damaged and lack the funds to move or store their belongings. They all fear the strikes resuming. Few are sleeping soundly.
In response to widespread emotional distress, PKI has hosted daily online sessions offering both comfort and orientation to a changed reality. Board member and former Member of the Knesset Ksenia Svetlova led a second virtual session offering insight into the conflict, helping participants contextualize what they just experienced. Crucially, PKI hosted a workshop with Israeli professional insurance agent Marianna Shames, who advised individuals how to seek compensation for property damage. She offered step-by-step instructions, detailing how to file a claim and the process of applying to receive help or reimbursement. The event was attended by more than 200 people.
PKI remains committed to supporting Israeli immigrants throughout this difficult recovery period as the world awaits news of whether the ceasefire will hold.
