Empowering Immigrant LGBTQ Israelis with Information on Legal Protections

Project Kesher Israel’s LGBTQ group in Tel Aviv recently hosted a successful workshop dedicated to the legal protections that guard against potential homophobic discrimination in public spaces. Led by lawyer Lena Gomelsky, the workshop offered critical information to a population all too familiar with homophobia, given that many attendees have fled to Israel from Russia, which has been actively persecuting members of the LGBTQ community rather than offering protections.

By further educating PKI’s network about their rights, the organization continues to empower this community of fellow Jews who’ve too long been marginalized and oppressed. PKI continues to prioritize their legal protections and offer tools for self-advocacy.
