Announcing New Mini-Grant Contest for Ukrainian Women Entrepreneurs
WOF-UA has announced the launch of its seventh mini-grant contest, designed to support women entrepreneurs in the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions of Ukraine. With backing from The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), the fund will award grants of 80,000 UAH (approximately $2,000) to assist women business owners in acquiring essential equipment for expansion.
Since its inception, the WOF-UA mini-grant program has supported more than 150 women-led businesses, bolstering Ukraine’s economy through localized, female-led assistance. Eligible applicants must have operated their businesses for at least six months, show they’ve been registered as individual entrepreneurs in the designated regions or have relocated their businesses there after February 24, 2022, and commit to hiring at least one additional employee.
The expansion of the grant program continues to help women entrepreneurs stabilize their families, contribute to the local economy, offer their communities needed goods and services, bring on more workers who would otherwise be unemployed and even become philanthropists themselves—as relayed in Project Kesher’s recent eJewishPhilanthropy article.
